Biographical Note for VAQUEZ'S DISEASE

Va·quez \vȧ-kez\ Louis Henri (1860–1936), French physician. Vaquez developed an interest in the diseases of the heart and circulation early in his career and eventually became a leading clinical cardiologist of his time. He is famous for describing polycythemia vera in 1892. (An equally famous description of this entity was written later by Sir William Osler in 1903.)
